The International Institute of Tamil Culture and Civilization, Inc. (IITCC) is a not-for-profit, and tax-exempt organization in the United States of America. The main objective of the Institute is to revive the now-defunct Tamil Culture and publish it. This was previously published by the internationally known Tamil Scholar, Rev. Xavier S. Thaninayagam. He was also the founder of the International Association of Tamil Research (IATR). The journal Tamil Culture ceased publication after his demise in the 70’s. The Association (IATR) also is now dormant. | Rev. Xavier S. Thani Nayagam |
The Institute has been formed in response to many requests from India and the USA with a view to initiating a publication, much like its predecessor, in content and style. It is more like a revival of its old self, fulfilling the aspirations of the present generation. The Institute, it is hoped, will not only keep alive the spirit of
Father Thani Nayagam, but will inspire future scholars to emulate
him and the publication will serve the Tamilians all over the world
with a sense of proud humility about their mother tongue. They will
undoubtedly direct their efforts to strengthen and perpetuate the
cause of Tamil as a classical language, and its antiquity and continuity
as a spoken language. |
