Overwhelming Support to the Institute and its Objectives:

Immediately after receiving the federal income tax-exemption under 501 (C) (3)
of the Internal Revenue Code, Dr. Francis S. Muthu, the President of the Institute hurried to Tamil Nadu, India, to meet with Tamil Scholars and communicate to them the objectives of the Institute. Dr. Francis S. Muthu met with Tamil Scholars and research students at the M. Phil and Doctoral levels at the following conferences:

(1) International Society for Tamil Cultural Studies. The Society’s 18th Annual Conference co-sponsored by Periyar University, Salem
held at Yarcaud on May 12th and 13th, 2007.

(2) Indian University Tamil Professors’ Association.
The Association’s 38th Conference, held at Alagappa University, Karaikkudy on May 18th and 19th, 2007.

(3) Veeramaamuniver Literary Society’s Annual Conference held at Kodaikanal on June 4th to 9th, 2007.

(4) Meeting with Tamil Professors at Fatima College, Madurai, Loyola College, Chennai and others from Madurai University and Presidency College, Chennai.

All of them welcomed the objectives of the Institute and felt the need to revive and publish Tamil Culture, as an international journal that will carry quality research papers to the world scholars.

Similarly the participants of the annual conference of the Federation of Tamil Sangams of North America (FeTNA) held at Raleigh. North Carolina, USA., on July 6th to 9th, 2007, enthusiastically welcomed the goals and objectives of the Institute. More particularly, the Tamil scholars who participated in the Literary
Session of the conference, encouraged the efforts and promised help for the Institute and the journal, Tamil Culture.

We have taken a tremendous responsibility and with your encouragement and help, both monetary and literary, we can accomplish all the objectives of the Institute. We need your comments and ideas.

In the months of November and December of 2008, the President of the Institute visited the Central Institute of Classical Tamil, which was recently transferred from Mysore to Chennai. The Director and the Fellows of the Central Institute expressed great interest in the International Institute of Tamil Culture and Civilization and its goals and objectives. The Central Institute wants to have a link and coordinate its activities with our Institute.
